OnlyBusy

OnlyBusy vs Cal.com

Last updated 3 October 2026

Cal.com gives you a booking link, and the pricing page links to a self-hosted option. The scheduler inside a client's Microsoft 365 or Google tenant still reads events on that calendar. A link on another domain does not mark the hour Busy.

What they are for

Cal.com is scheduling software with a booking page. Hosting it yourself changes who runs that page. It does not put an event on the Outlook calendar a colleague is looking at.

Find a time and Scheduling Assistant read events in that tenant. A page on another domain is outside that view.

What OnlyBusy writes

OnlyBusy writes a native event, marked Busy and private. Outlook and Google pick up the change because Google and Microsoft push the update.

Each destination calendar can show a different label. The source title never crosses over.

Who should stay with them

Stay with Cal.com when clients book themselves through a link, or when you want to run the booking page on your own host.

As of 3 October 2026, Cal.com's pricing page lists a free plan for one user with unlimited event types and calendars.

Who should add OnlyBusy

Add OnlyBusy when other teams schedule you from their own calendar and never open your link.

A booking page collects a meeting. A Busy block protects time you already promised somewhere else.

Only for the Busy block inside a client's calendar. Cal.com remains the tool when you want a booking page, including one you host yourself.

Does self-hosting Cal.com fix Scheduling Assistant?

No. Self-hosting changes who runs the booking page. Scheduling Assistant still needs an event on the calendar in that tenant.

Can both run at once?
