OnlyBusy
Show busy on Google Calendar and Outlook without sharing the event
Last updated 3 October 2026
Free/busy is the only fact a scheduler needs: this hour is taken. OnlyBusy writes a private Busy event into each Google Calendar and Microsoft 365 calendar you connect, and leaves the title, guests, notes, and location on the calendar they came from.
What free/busy means
Free/busy is the flag on an event that says the person is available or not. Outlook and Google use it when they propose a time.
The flag does not require the title. A private event marked Busy is enough for the hour to drop out of the open slots.
What Find a time reads
Google Find a time reads events on the calendars in that Google account or Workspace. An event that lives only in Outlook, or in another Google account, is not in that view.
The same hour can look open in Google and taken in Outlook until both calendars hold a Busy event.
What OnlyBusy does not copy
OnlyBusy does not copy the title, the guest list, the notes, or the location. It does not store the title after it has used it to show you your own event.
The destination event carries the label you chose for that calendar. One client can see External commitment. Another can see Busy.
Personal OAuth
You connect each calendar with the same personal consent screen other calendar apps use. OnlyBusy does not ask for tenant-wide admin consent.
A tenant that turns off user consent cannot be connected until an admin allows that consent.
When a booking link is the wrong fix
A booking link works when the other person opens it. Find a time and Scheduling Assistant never open it. They read the calendar.
Use a link when you want people to book themselves. Write a Busy event when they already schedule you from the calendar in front of them.
Questions
Can I show busy on Outlook and Google without the meeting title?
Yes. OnlyBusy writes a private Busy event with the label you set. The title stays on the calendar where the meeting was created.
Does the other person see my guests?
No. Guests, notes, and location are not copied onto the other calendar.
Do I need an IT admin?
Usually you sign in yourself. If that tenant blocks user consent, the calendar cannot be connected until the admin allows it.
