What does this meeting cost in a year?
Uses a 2,080 hour work year. It does not include overhead.
Add the meeting, then calculate.
How the cost is calculated
The hourly rate is the annual salary divided by 2,080. That 2,080 is 40 hours times 52 weeks.
Weekly hours are the number of people, times the meeting length in hours, times how many times it happens each week. Yearly hours are the weekly hours times 52. The yearly cost is those hours times the hourly rate, rounded to the nearest dollar.
A worked example
Four people, each paid $90,000 a year, meet for 60 minutes, three times a week. That is 4 × 1 hour × 3 = 12 hours a week, and 12 × 52 = 624 hours a year.
$90,000 divided by 2,080 is about $43.27 an hour. 624 hours at that rate is $27,000 for the year. The page shows that figure. It does not turn it into a savings claim.
A recurring meeting for a year
Enter the people, the salary, the length, and how many times the meeting happens each week. The page multiplies that week by 52 and rounds to the nearest dollar.
